President: Tim Crawley, age 37 has been designing and building unique products since high school. In 1984, directly after high school, he went to work for J.M.C. Mechanical as motivated 18-year-old HVAC contractor. Within two years, Tim was Field Superintendent, in charge of three crews of seven men. In 1989, he took over the shop and all of the fabrication needs for J.M.C. In 1996, he had climbed the ladder to Vice-President, while continuing to do all fabrication.

In addition to his full-time commitments, Tim began the hobby of designing and building custom furniture. He was successfully producing custom work for high-end clientele by the age of 22.

In 2001, Tim founded and serves as CEO of Wonder Works Unlimited Inc., a product design, development, prototyping, and consulting company. Wonder Works has and continues to work for individuals as well as companies as large as Fortune 1000 companies. Mr. Crawley holds several utility patents and other intellectual properties.

Tim also serves as the President of the Inventors Association of Arizona (IAA), a non-profit organization that mentors new and experienced inventors. His focus is to continue the mutual support and sharing of “lessons learned” and “best practices” in the IAA. He is helping to build the IAA into the best inventors connection/resource available by bringing in experts to speak and to get other inventors involved. Through these efforts under his leadership, the IAA will continue assisting inventors in understanding how to get their products protected and move their products into the mainstream market.  wonderworker@qwest.net  www.snappygrip.com

Vice President:  Kelly Kinnard
,  Honeywell, EPIC Displays & Advanced Development, Systems Engineer.

I credit my creative talents to my dad.  He made sure all of the kids new how to build things to solve problems. I have always had an entrepreneurial background.  My dad and I started our first company when I was in high school. The company specialized in hand assembly and packaging products.

I worked my way through ASU to get BSEE in 1984. While at ASU, I was a teaching assistant for drafting (back when they had real T-squares and Rules), and electrical engineering labs. I love teaching and have great respect for anyone wanting to better themselves. I have worked for several small and startup companies and have helped build the first networking technologies for 802.4 (Token Bus), and 802.5 (Token Ring). I have also pioneered many networking technologies in the 802.3 (Ethernet) industry.

My career has spanned several facets of the tech industry from Systems Architecture and HW/SW design, to manufacturing, to OEM Sales/Marketing including building and managing technical support operations. I was been CTO for 2 firms before starting my own engineering design/consulting firm "The K Group". I enjoy talking ideas from Napkin/concept to Shrink Wrap/Retail Sales. My company is based on turning ideas into reality. I am currently on contract working in the avionics industry. I have worked on teams that have had patented design, and have 2 patents pending.

I enjoy helping others get their ideas off the ground, and decided to join the IAA. I believe the organization can help inventors avoid costly endeavors when getting start. Lord knows I have taken a few on the chin myself.

Director Linda Anderson, President of LS Designs Inc., is the inventor and distributor of the KangaRing Hanging Cell Phone Holder. The patented cell phone holder is designed to work in the car and is sold in car washes and car dealerships in the Phoenix, Dallas, Salt Lake City and Denver areas and can be seen at her website, www.kangaring.com.

Ms. Anderson is currently a residential financing specialist with Vista Mortgage Services Inc., in Scottsdale. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Arizona State University in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and holds an associate’s degree in Business Administration. She has 20 years experience as owner of two public accounting companies providing accounting, tax and business consulting services to small businesses and non-profit organizations. She also spent six years in the exercise and wellness field as Personal Trainer and Director of Service at a health club and Instructor at Phoenix College.

Ms. Anderson has been an active member of the Inventor’s Association of Arizona since 1997. She has "dabbled" in product development the past 12 years designing everything from clothing and jewelry to a foldable tote bag and an ID bracelet for those who exercise outdoors. As for other product ideas, Anderson says "I’ve got a million of them!"   linda@kangaring.com

Meet the Board

History of the IAA -- In 1996, Susan Moore and Lisa Lloyd were two women armed with a great idea and a great deal of perseverance. While developing their product, they quickly discovered that resources and support for independent inventors were severely lacking. Their vision of a non-profit organization dedicated to helping inventors was soon brought to life.  Through their efforts and the efforts of others, the group has grown.
